Helping to Heal the Twin Cities
June 07, 2020
Spring 2020. It was a one-two punch to the gut of small business. Atomic Data is working hard to help and rebuild.
First, ‘stay at home’ orders brought successful restaurants, stylists, book stores, and countless other small businesses to a sudden halt through no fault of their own. Then, just as a re-opening was in sight, the tragic and preventable murder of George Floyd sparked a nationwide burst of rage and contempt that brought many of the same small businesses down in flames. As a result of the destruction and unrest, many businesses may never return. This, we at Atomic Data, cannot accept. We also cannot accept the police brutality, abuse of power, systemic racism, underfunding education in minority communities, the overwhelmingly white/male makeup of the IT industry, the summer slide resulting from a lack of books, and a minimum wage that all but ensures a life of poverty. So we’re joining forces with our long time friends at Summit Academy OIC to first help heal and rebuild the Twin Cities. We’re collecting donations and matching up to $20,000 to help fund supply donations, rebuilding efforts, and community outreach in the hardest hit areas of Minneapolis & St. Paul. You too can make a difference in these communities. Contribute here: |
