Atomic Data Wins "Best in Business" Award
We are pleased to announce that Atomic Data has been awarded the Minneapolis Chamber of Commerce Best in Business—Large Employer award for 2017! At the awards luncheon on March 23rd, we were recognized in front of our Minneapolis Chamber peers for our ability to stay on top of technology trends, handling our client’s needs with “great attention to detail,“ and reinvesting in the Minneapolis tech workforce by partnering with local programs like IT Ready.
Our forward thinking and adaptation of the latest technology trends like automation, combined with our commitment to white glove service sets us apart from our competitors. That white glove touch has led to a barely 1% turnover in clients over the years. We evolve to meet the needs of our clients, always have.
The company’s vision has changed since inception, but our vision is simple—provide a one stop shop for all IT needs. IT as a service. To get there we focus on giving our clients the best service possible—white glove service is what we’re all about. Whether the client is ordering an Orange Book to document and inventory their technology or an entire suite of services, we treat the client with the utmost respect. Having said that, we don’t sugarcoat anything. We tell our clients what they need to hear, not what they want to hear. This leads to a more honest and trusting relationship. This kind of relationship is important in the IT world; we deal with important and often sensitive information and the customer needs to know we take our role very seriously.
And to foster that white glove philosophy, Atomic Data works hard to create a culture of inclusion, growth (personal and professional), friendship, and fun. That starts by hiring the right employees. Up and down the roster—there is nothing but great people. In the hiring process, we don’t just look for who has the most education, training or certificates. Those help, of course, but beyond that we look for people that we know will fit in our hardworking, devoted, always-learning environment.
We take advantage of relationships with great local programs like IT Ready—a free educational program for individuals looking to break into the tech field. Many of our new hires come from IT Ready and quickly move up the ranks at Atomic Data. In February, we became the first Platinum Mission Investor for Creating IT Futures, the organization behind the IT Ready program.
“As the need for tech-skilled employees explodes, programs like Creating IT Futures are an invaluable resource to the community and its businesses. Atomic Data has, and will continue to benefit from our relationship with Creating IT Futures through their well-trained graduates,” said Jim Wolford, co-owner and CEO, Atomic Data.
We offer competitive wages, phone/internet stipends, PTO, stocked kitchens, insurance packages, and referral bonuses. And on top of that, we get together often with monthly BBQs (during BBQ season), quarterly team outings, volunteer opportunities, monthly yoga classes, potlucks, cook-offs, massages, and partnerships with awesome local brands like MN United, Metropolis RFC, and Modist Brewing. We even get to brew our own ale once a year with Modist.
One of the most attractive benefits of working at Atomic, and how we retain employees is the opportunity for advancement in the company. Last year alone, in a company of just 125 employees, we had 25 internal promotions. At Atomic Data, if you work hard, take initiative and are willing to learn, upward mobility will be presented to you.
Atomic Data believes that its employees are what make the company great, keeps our clients happy, and inspires new clients to put their faith in us. On behalf of everyone at Atomic Data, thank you, Minneapolis Chamber of Commerce, for the 2017 Best in Business award.
