IT Company Expands Footprint and Consolidates all Minnesota-based Staff in Downtown Minneapolis

Minneapolis, MN, August 7, 2018 – Atomic Data®, a Minneapolis-based IT-as-a-Service company, announced it has moved its headquarters out of the historic North Loop neighborhood and into the bustling downtown, skyway connected, The Marq (formerly known as Marquette Plaza). The newly renovated space, which spans the majority of the 11th floor, brings more than 80 of Atomic Data’s engineers, technicians, and administrative staff together in the same location as their Service Desk, Network Operations Center and flagship Minneapolis Central data center. Atomic Data’s 200+ employees now occupy three floors within The Marq.

The new office at The Marq also provides Atomic Data with a larger space to accommodate their rapidly growing workforce. Now, all departments, with the exception of branch offices in San Diego, New York, Los Angeles, and South Dakota, reside in the same building. This will provide optimal collaboration and knowledge transfer between all resource levels and teams.

”The North Loop has been a great home to us for the last 12 years,” said Atomic Data CEO, Jim Wolford. “The move to The Marq starts an exciting new chapter for Atomic Data—one of greater efficiency, professionalism, and dedication to the community. The new space will not only allow us to double our headcount, but to also better serve our current and future clients.”

Atomic Data’s previous HQ at 615 N. 3rd street will soon serve as the new home of Foundation Technologies, Atomic Data’s sister company. Atomic Data had been located at 615 since 2009. Previously, the location was home to Caribou Coffee corporate headquarters. Positioned on the corner of North 3rd Street and 7th Avenue, the intersection was home to a massive labor strike in 1934, punctuated with what became known as ‘Bloody Friday’. Along with other strikes along the West Coast and in the Midwest, these strikes gave rise to the industrial unionism of the early 20th century.
