Design and implement computer and information systems, such as data center networks, servers, and virtualization, local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), intranets, extranets, and network and server security, load balancing and storage. Perform system design, analysis, and planning. May also design network and computer security measures. May research and recommend network and data communications hardware and software. The Enterprise Architect works with customer accounts to design and architect solutions that match their business needs. An individual in this role is responsible for communicating with customers and translating business needs into technology solutions. The ideal candidate can articulate technical information to a non-technical audience and communicate value proposition.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Communicate with customers, sales staff, or marketing staff to determine customer needs
  • Prepare design presentations and proposals for staff or customers
  • Coordinate installation of new equipment
  • Explain design specifications to integration or test engineers
  • Communicate with vendors to gather information about products, alert them to future needs, resolve problems, or address system maintenance issues
  • Coordinate network or design activities with designers of associated networks
  • Prepare detailed network specifications, including diagrams, charts, equipment configurations, or recommended technologies
  • Estimate time and materials needed to complete projects
  • Supervise engineers or other staff in the design or implementation of network solutions
  • Develop or recommend network security measures, such as firewalls, network security audits
  • Develop disaster recovery plans
  • Monitor and analyze network performance and reports on data input or output to detect problems, identify inefficient use of computer resources, or perform capacity planning
  • Develop conceptual, logical, or physical network designs
  • Determine specific network hardware or software requirements, such as platforms, interfaces, bandwidths, or routine schemas
  • Visit vendors, attend conferences or training sessions, or study technical journals to keep up with changes in technology
  • Participate in network technology upgrade or expansion projects, including installation of hardware and software and integration testing
  • Research and test new or modified hardware or software products to determine performance and interoperability

 

Qualifications

·       Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience in Engineering, Mathematics, or Computer Science

·       Possess active certifications in the following: CCNP certification or higher knowledge of router and switches, CCNP Security certification preferred, and CCIE (or in-progress), VMWare, NetApp, F5/ Big IP, and Microsoft certifications are desirable

·       Advanced knowledge with 10+ years’ experience in a high-performance datacenter with direct support and network services engineering responsibilities

·       Proven hands-on experience with the following: Cisco ASA Firewalls and Cisco X-series ASA Firewalls with Firepower services, 2960/2960S/2960X/2960XR Cisco Switches, 3560/3750/3650/3850 Stack Cisco Switches, 720x/2900/3900/4400 ISR Series Cisco Routers, 7600/6500 Series Cisco Chassis Route Switches, Nexus 5k/3k/9k Series Switches

·       Demonstrate experience with service provider protocols such as: BGP, EIGRP, MPLS

·       Exercise back up or archival software knowledge in NetApp replication, VMWare, SRM

·       Experience with configuration management software such as VMware, Chef, Ansible, Rancid

·       Function in various operation system software including Windows Server 2012, 2016, CentOS and Linux

·       Expertise in database management system software including SQL and MySQL

·       Utilize a high degree of complex problem solving and convey technical information effectively

·       Knowledge of Low Voltage wiring standards including both copper and fiber

·       Knowledge of power & cooling implementation in a datacenter environment

·       24x7 operations experience required
