- Managing complex LAN and WAN environment across numerous customer business units
- Escalation point for troubleshooting of complex networking related issues in a TAC environment
- Architect, design, and configure custom infrastructure solutions for Data Center customers
- Operate and optimize existing Cisco network interconnecting multiple Data Centers with customer locations and the internet
- Configure custom security policies in existing Cisco ASA 5500 series firewalls to support customer VPNs and protect customer servers
- Configure MPLS services in existing MPLS backbone to interconnect customer locations with Data Center resources
- Configure customer facing network ports on existing Cisco network including T1, Multilink PPP T1, T3, Metro Ethernet, Ethernet
- Provide internal level 2 or 3 support of EIGRP and BGP routing
- Provide internal level 2 or 3 support of layer 2 switching
- Provide internal level 2 or 3 support of VMWare VI3
- Provide internal level 2 or 3 support of NetApp SAN
- Provide advanced technical direction and leadership to the lower level network administrators/engineers through the planning and implementation processes
- Ensures availability of 24×7 on-call support for emergencies
- Attends to obligations and supports other company initiatives as directed.
Qualifications we are looking for
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in related field preferred
- CCNA, CCDA required
- CCNP certification desired
- Advanced knowledge with 3-5 years experience in a high-performance datacenter with direct support and network services engineering responsibilities for Level II
- Expert knowledge with 5+ years experience in a high-performance datacenter with direct support and network services engineering responsibilities for Level III
- Hands on experience with the following:
- 3750/3560 Stack Cisco Switches
- 720x Series Routers
- Various commonly used Cisco SCPE Hardware
- Knowledge of Low Voltage wiring standards
- Proven experience with service provider protocols such as:
- BGP, EIGRP, MLPS
- 24×7 operations experience required
- Advanced and proven experience achieving and maintaining 99.999% availability of networks and network services.
- Good analytical and creative problem solving skills for design, creation and testing of complex systems
- Good communication skills to communicate systems proposals to management and customers and provide systems diagnoses and resolution for current systems
- Good interpersonal skills to interact with customers, senior level personnel, subordinates and team member
- Good organizational skills to prioritize work, balance and lead complex projects
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Ability to integrate highly complex hardware and software systems
- Cisco networking experience in an MPLS environment
- Strong technical and problem solving skills.
- Requires some on-call/after hours work.
